_New publications of Folkwang members
Please contact the library director Dina Heß, preferably by e-mail, with as much detail as possible about your donation. You are welcome to bring individual gifts to the library during service hours. If you have any questions, the library team is also available at bibliothek(at)folkwang-uni.de, by phone on (+49) 201-4903 241 or on site during service hours (see →Öffnungs- und Servicezeiten | Opening and service hours).
Unfortunately, we cannot accept all well-intentioned donatioins for various reasons.
Frequently asked questions:
_Can you pick up the donation?
Unfortunately, it is not usually possible to collect or view a donation at its place of origin.
_Why don't you accept all donations?
Space in every library is limited and - unlike state libraries, for example - the Folkwang Library only has a very limited archive function. For this reason, we are usually unable to accept the following media, or can only do so in exceptional cases. Including:
_Items, that are already available in sufficient numbers in the collection (see →Bibliothekskatalog | Library catalogue)
_Printed reference works (usually already in the collection in printed or electronic form, see →Bibliothekskatalog | Library catalogue and →Online-Angebote | Online services)
_Records
_Microfilms, microfishes, audio tapes, etc.
_Audio and video cassettes
_Grey literature
_Old vocal scores of pieces that are available in more recent editions in the library
_Old, incomplete, damaged or dirty items
_Donations that are linked to conditions
_Complete bequests
_Unpublished materials (exceptions can be made for music manuscripts if the rights holders are willing to grant the library sufficient licences for publication, distribution and reproduction, please contact the library director)
