The degree programs at Folkwang University of the Arts hold information events several times a year to give prospective students an insight into the degree program and offer the opportunity to ask individual questions about studying and applying.

Teachers, students, educators and musicians come together once a year at the "Singing with Children" study information day for professional exchange, further training and networking.

Once a year, Faculty 2 of the Folkwang University of the Arts invites interested pupils to a study information day and provides an overview of its diverse study options. The offer includes information on the degree courses in Music Teaching, Music Education, Musicology, Integrative Music Theory, Conducting Vocal Ensembles and Medieval Music. In addition to individual consultations, there are other opportunities to take part or simply watch, such as concerts, work shadowing and much more.

German-French study program Musicology - Bachelor and Licence

The degree program regularly offers a digital presentation of the degree program via Zoom. You can find the date announcements on the degree program's Instagram channel.

Once or twice a year (in May/June or October), the Musical, Directing, Acting and Physical Theatre degree programs offer advice on studying at the Folkwang University of the Arts at an information afternoon.

Anyone interested in the degree programs offered by the Department of Design is cordially invited to find out more at the beginning of the year, either on site or live via the website. Prospective students will gain an insight into the opportunities and prospects of studying art and design and can find out about the course content, the application process, the integration of the sciences into a practice-oriented course and the equipment in the workshops.

 

Professors, students and staff from the main areas of study will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about the course. You can also take part in a portfolio consultation, show your work samples and ask questions about the application requirements. You can take a seat on the "student sofas" together with students from the various subjects and find out about studying at Folkwang in an informal setting. Our students will present their own work and talk about their everyday life as students.

Students from the Photography, Industrial Design and Communication Design courses show their current work at the annual exhibition of the Department of Design. This gives visitors a comprehensive insight into the courses offered by the department. The Alfried Krupp School Lab of the Arts offers one-day workshops in the fields of art, design, music and performance for school classes from year 9 onwards. The workshops are conceived and implemented by teachers at the Folkwang University of the Arts, accompanied by staff and students and designed together with the pupils.

Studying at the Bochum campus

The Bochum University Day is the kick-off event for the study orientation weeks at the beginning of the year in Bochum. Together with its UniverCity partner universities, the Folkwang University of the Arts is offering an exciting programme to get to know all of Bochum's universities at once: lectures on choosing a degree course, organizational matters relating to studying, advice at exhibition stands and reports from students. Registration is required.
