Artists' health at the Folkwang University of the Arts

With Artists' Health, the Folkwang University of the Arts, in collaboration with University Medicine Essen, is creating a new platform for students and teaching staff from all faculties to receive support and treatment for physical and psychological complaints.

This special health prevention program for artists provides holistic support for a health-promoting career.

In addition to the Folkwang's internal services 'Body Awareness Forum' and 'Life and Perspective Advice in an Artistic Context', this platform already offers services from a number of other specialist outpatient clinics:

  • Endocrinology, Diabetology & Metabolism
  • Health promotion
  • ENT (phoniatrics)
  • Neurology
  • Orthopaedics & Trauma Surgery
  • Psychosomatics
  • Sleep and telemedicine
  • Sports and movement sciences
  • Voxel-Guided Morphometry

The platform is still under construction, so that specialist outpatient clinics are constantly being added and offer medical support for folk artists from the fields of music, theater, dance, design and science.
