Taking your child to campus

There are a variety of support offers available on all campuses for parents who take their children with them to university. Family Services is continuously working to expand these offers for our students and employees with children.

Offers at the Folkwang-Campus

  • AStA-Café

The AStA Café is located on the Essen-Werden campus. It is a good place to grab a coffee and a bite to eat. Naturally, you can also nurse your baby there. There is also a high chair in the cafeteria.

  • Changing – feeding

At the Essen-Werden campus, a changing table is freely available to all university members and visitors (room P010). You can nurse your baby in this room. Access is barrier-free via elevator. The key to the room is available at reception in the main building.

At the Zollverein campus there is a changing table in the social room (room 2.06). The room is freely accessible all day.

At the Institute for Pop Music, the library is designated as a room for retreating and nursing. It is located on the upper floor next to the common area.

If all other rooms in the Orchestra Centre|NRW in Dortmund are occupied, you can ask for a room for nursing at the reception.

There are currently no specially designated family rooms on the Duisburg campus. If you are looking for a quiet room for changing or nursing, it is best to ask at the reception.
