Admission requirements

  • Evidence of a professionally recognised university diploma from a Bachelor study course (of minimum four-year duration) in a relevant artistic study course
  • Evidence of artistic aptitude

Language requirements

  • Applicants have to verify proof of language level A2 with enrolment. Within three semesters after enrolment students have to establish proof of language level B2 followed by an obligatory “oral skills” language course.
  • The required levels of language skills at Folkwang University of the Arts are in accordance to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).

    Costs

    • 50 € application fee (to be paid with application)
    • Each semester all students have to pay a social contribution for the services of the Student Union, a student contribution for the work of the AStA (General Student Committee) and the VRR/NRW ticket. A breakdown of the amounts plus information on how to pay is available here.
