_Applicants without a general university entrance certificate may also be admitted, provided that they exhibit outstanding artistic talent (see "Rahmeneignungsprüfungsordnung" Nr. 399 §8)

_Evidence of artistic aptitude or outstanding artistic talent respectively by passing the aptitude test

_Applicants have to verify proof of language level B2 with enrolment.

_The required levels of language skills at Folkwang University of the Arts are in accordance to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).

_50 € application fee: For your application a fee of € 50 is due. If you apply for multiple study courses simultaneously, the fee is € 50 for the first application and € 15 for every additional study course. The amount will be automatically calculated and shown to you in the application form.

_No tuition fees are charged at Folkwang.

_Each semester all students have to pay a social contribution for the services of the Student Union, a student contribution for the work of the AStA (General Student Committee) and the VRR/NRW ticket. A breakdown of the amounts plus information on how to pay is available here.

Folkwang actively supports the call of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities to train people with disabilities as artists and therefore particularly welcomes applications for the guest student programme, regular study courses and requests for inclusive cooperation projects. Prospective students should make use of the possibility of a counselling meeting with the  Representative for students with disability or chronic illness in advance.

Applications must be submitted via the Folkwang Application Portal by the end of the application period on 15 March (for the following winter semester). The portal is open for applications from 15 January to 15 March.

B) COMPLETION OF APPLICATION

_Proof of payment of the application fee (bank statement)

The aptitude test for the study course Music Pedagogy usually takes place in the first weeks of May. Please note that you will have to be on site for the aptitude test.

The aptitude test consists of:

_An examination of your artistic aptitude (for the main subject and subsidiary subject)
_An examination of your pedagogical aptitude
_An examination on the ability to direct music-making groups
_A test on basic subjects of music theory

The exact aptitude test requirements are based on your desired major. Detailed information can be foundin § 3, section 3ff of the examination regulations (in German)

Gemäß § 4, Absatz 2 und 3, Punkt 2 der Ordnung über die vom Rektorat getroffenen Ausnahmeregelungen in Umsetzung der Corona-Epidemie-Hochschulverordnung (Amtliche Mitteilung Nr. 382) hat das Rektorat der Folkwang Universität der Künste auf Vorschlag des Fachbereichs 2 am 21.04.2021 folgende Änderungen für die Durchführung des Eignungsprüfungsverfahrens für die Studiengänge des Fachbereichs 2 beschlossen:

In Ergänzung zu den Regelungen der Rahmenordnung zur Feststellung der künstlerischen oder studiengangsspezifischen Eignung und der besonderen künstlerischen Begabung vom 06.06.2018 in Verbindung mit § 3 der Prüfungsordnung für den Bachelorstudiengang Musikpädagogik vom 27.07.2016 findet das Eignungsprüfungsverfahren für die Zulassung zum Studium im Wintersemester 2021/2022 als zweistufiges Verfahren statt.

Die erste Stufe wird digital durchgeführt und besteht in dem fristgerechten Einreichen eigener Videoaufnahmen auf elektronischem Weg (ein Videolink) zum Nachweis der künstlerischen Eignung im (1.) Haupt- und (2.) Begleitfach. Allgemeine Hinweise zum Einreichen eines Link zur 'digitalen Vorrunde' finden Sie hier. Der Videolink muss bis zur Bewerbungsfrist über das Bewerbungsformular eingereicht werden. Die Anforderungen und Bewertungskriterien der ersten Stufe finden Sie hier:

Wird diese erste Stufe des Prüfungsverfahrens in beiden Teilen bestanden, erfolgt eine Einladung zur zweiten Stufe. Die Prüfung in der zweiten Stufe des Eignungsprüfungsverfahrens erfolgt wie im § 3 der Prüfungsordnung für den Studiengang für den Nachweis der (3.) pädagogischen Eignung in einem etwa 10-minütigen Kolloquium und (5.) der musiktheoretischen Grundlagen in einem schriftlichen Test von etwa 45-60 Minuten Dauer geregelt. Das Kolloquium wird digital durchgeführt. Der schriftliche Test erfolgt in Präsenzform vor Ort. Der Nachweis der (4.) Fähigkeit zur Anleitung musizierender vokaler oder instrumentaler Gruppe entfällt.
