Chikako Kaido

Born in Tokyo, Japan in 1979 Chikako Kaido initially studied classical ballet before, influenced by the philosophy and performances of Butoh dancer, Kazuo Ohno, she decided to specialize in contemporary dance and choreography. Following a workshop with Henrietta Horn in 2002, she moved to Germany and studied for 4 years at the Folkwang University of the Arts.
She has since worked with Andrea Catania, Kuo-chu Wu, Libby Nye, Samir Akika and Susanne Linke. Her own creations include Showcase of the body, Division – music and body and The Religion.
She has been working as a dancer and choreographer at the Folkwang Tanzstudio in 2008/09.

Leo Kees

Leo Kees was born in 1980 in Patagonia, Argentina, where he studied film and theatre. He began his dance education at the Folkwang University of the Arts and subsequently took part in numerous international workshops and Master Courses. One of his main artistic interests lies in the application of interdisciplinary working approaches in media art. He has been a dancer and choreographer at the Folkwang Hochschule in 2008/09.
