“Young Works”
Final assignments from the new Masters course in dance composition & choreography by dancers from the Folkwang Dance Studio
Summer 2011 the Folkwang Tanzstudio (FTS) presented the “Young Works” evening of dance in the New Auditorium at the Folkwang University of the Arts, with the first ever final assignments by students of the new Folkwang Masters course in dance composition, as well as choreography by dancers from the FDS and by Folkwang professor, Rodolpho Leoni.
The programme comprised four solo choreographies and five group choreographies by 7 choreographers, including Fang-Yu Shen, the first graduate of the Masters course in choreography at the Folkwang University of the Arts. She demonstrated her final assignment and choreography in “In a Frame of Reference”, which was awarded the critics’ prize at the 25th International Choreographers’ Competition held by the Ballett Gesellschaft Hannover in April 2011.
