kolme

tripum - sonst | Choreography Gabrio Gabrielli
The Maids of Honour | Choreography Manuel Quero
explaining impossible | Choreography Sanna Myllylahti

Three choreographies, three pieces, one evening - that´s how „kolme” can be summarized shortly.

The richness and the variety of Contemporary Dance materialize here, in three pieces which in terms of themes are entirely self-contained.

Gabrio Gabrielli tells in his piece „tripum - sonst” Italian backyard episodes. Ludicrous personages, tempo and mediterranean flair fill the stage and develop a compact atmosphere. Gabrio Gabrielli shows with a lot of love for detail the normal insanity of every day life.

His choreography lives from the humorous handling of small vice and weaknesses of people which is as well expressed in an equally humorous movement language. With „tripum - sonst” Gabrio Gabrielli manages at the same time to create a tender and funny social environmental study.

Manuel Quero with his choreography „The Maids of Honour” gives insight into the lives of women at court in the time of Baroque. With a lot of humour and winks he puts the struggle of power, the spitefulness and the coquetry of these Ladies into the limelight. In rich red robes they swarm over the stage, capture it with spacious movement: exalted and always a bit hysterical. Moving, low images are taken over by powerful, furious scenes of the ensemble. „The Maids of Honour” is a firework of expression and dance.

Sanna Myllylahti created with „explaining impossible” a mirror image of our society today. People between loneliness and isolation meet here. Caught in themselves they only can communicate in a restricted way. But though time and again there are encounters of great intimacy and intensity. These meetings staged with an intensive interplay of light and shadow and powerful movement sequences strike one as melancholic but conciliate and give hope. „Explaining impossible” discovers with great sensitivity the extraordinary in the ordinary.
