Dr. Sarah Yorke, soprano, studied voice at the College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, Ohio (USA) where she finished her studies in 2003. Prize winner of many competitions in the US, Ms. Yorke appeared with various orchestras and in various festivals in the United States and abroad .

 
In 2002 Ms. Yorke made her European operatic debut in Zurich where she sang the title role in the world premiere of Ulrich Gasser's ÖdipusTochter. Other world premieres include the role of Sarah Summerfield in Dirk D’Ase’s Einstein, die Spuren des Lichts at the Ulmer Theater and the role of the 1st voice in Thomas Bartel’s Der Patient at the Theater Regensburg. In 2013 Ms. Yorke created the role of Julia in Torsten Rasch's The Duchess of Malfi in the German premiere at Theater Chemnitz. Her operatic repertory includes the title role in Gluck’s Armide, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Poppea in L'incoronazione di Poppea, Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier, Marie in La Fille du Régiment, Tiresias in Les mamelles de Tirésias, Astarte and Angel in Der Schmied von Gent, Pepi Pleininger in Wiener Blut, Christel in Der Vogelhändler, Venus and Diana in Orpheus in der Unterwelt, and 4th Blumenmädchen in Parsifal.
 
Notable concert engagements include the soprano solo in Hanspeter Kyburz’s Voynich Cipher Manuscript in Strasbourg with the Ensemble Modern and the Südwestrundfunk’s Vokal-ensemble and the soprano solo in Mahler’s 4th Symphony with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra. Singing engagements have taken Mrs. Yorke to Germany, Switzerland, France, The Netherlands, Spain, Ireland, Italy, China, and Kazakhstan.
 
From 2007 to 2017 Ms. Yorke was a member of the voice faculty at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater/August Everding Theaterakademie in Munich, Germany. Since September 2017, she has been a professor of voice/musical at the Folkwang Universität der Künste in Essen, Germany.
