Short Vita
Christine Knecht studied acting and directing at the Mozarteum in Salzburg.
After finishing her studies, she was an ensemble member at the Schauspielhaus Essen. Since 2002, Ms. Knecht has been working as a freelance director. She has directed at Theater Ingolstadt, Freie Szene Dortmund, Bonn, Essen and the Tanzhaus NRW Düsseldorf. She has developed her own productions with an ensemble of dancers and actors.
Ms. Knecht has been teaching acting at the Folkwang University of the Arts since 2007 and has been giving theater-specific seminars in the social services department at the Fachhochschule Bielefeld since 2015.
She lives in Essen with her husband and two children.
