Pianist Jürgen Grimm studied jazz and popular music at the Musikhochschule (Conservatory of Music) in Cologne where he graduated in 1997.


Through his work as the musical director, composer and arranger of the opening ceremony of the „European Cultural Capital 2010“ at the Zollverein Coal Mine, he became known in the Ruhr area. In addition to his work as musical director at such well-known theaters as Oper Bonn, Oper Dortmund, Staatstheater Nürnberg and Staatstheater Oldenburg, he has been Angelika Milster’s accompanist for several years. Mr. Grimm has arranged, composed and produced for such people as Barbara Schöneberger, Annett Louisan, the SWR Big Band, Anne Sofie von Otter, Adoro, Bürger Lars Dietrich, René Kollo, Paul van Dyk and Dionne Warwick and has composed music for film and television. 

He has performed and toured with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Daniel Harding, Anne Sofie von Otter, Till Brönner, Michael Brecker, Bob Brookmeyer, Clark Terry, Gerry Mulligan, the HR, WDR  and SWF Big Bands, as well as the  WDR Symphony Orchestra.
