Interview series related to the 8th international Folkwang Shakespeare Festival
In the framework of the 8th international Folkwang Shakespeare Festival taking place from 6th to 16th April 2016 the Folkwang University of the Arts will welcome guests from Durban, Cracow and Melbourne. During the festival the participating groups will present their performance of Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing” and then they will develop a joint international and multilingual version which will have its premiere on 15th April 2016.
Before the groups will travel to Germany we asked students and the directors from the participating universities about their experiences during the preparation for the festival, about their expectations and about the role Shakespeare plays in their home countries.
Up to the premiere of the German performance on 6th April 2016 we will publish these interviews with the students and directors. Prof. Schmidt, Vice-President for Events and International Affairs and in charge of the festival, will open this series of interviews.
The interviews have been conducted by Department 3: Communications & Media.
