Welcome Weeks: October 1st – 13th 2024

For the beginning of the winter semester 2024/25, we have organized a free orientation programme to help new international students get a good start to their studies.

On Orientation Day (October 1st, from 9:30 a.m.), we will offer information and help with all the formalities that are important for your stay in Germany as an international student. We will go over the topics of registration in Essen, Bochum or Duisburg, opening a bank account, student health insurance and enrolling at Folkwang, among other things.

Afterwards, we will get together for a free lunch and our big scavenger hunt, where you can get to know tour campus, the district of Essen-Werden, and of course your fellow students, and win prizes.

On top of Orientation Day, the Folkwang Student Guides have organized a full schedule of activities for our Welcome Weeks:

_Campus tours

_German Stammtisch

_Activities and field trips: Villa Hügel, Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex, “Alice in Wonderland” at the Schauspielhaus Bochum
