Solo

Dialogue with stage, table and chair

„In just 25 minutes ... the choreographer develops a perfect, touching, for tension vibrating study about loneliness. A lot of people in our society, not only old ones, find themselves in a similar situation. In a room empty of social relations she stands alone; if she does not want to become insane she has to start to communicate with the lifeless objects around her. Table, chair nearly become alive - become substitutes for partners, at least for a certain time. It is not a joyful occurrence but a strong piece of dance.”
(Jochen Schmidt, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, 4th of October 1999)

In April 2000 „Solo” got the award „Theaterzwang” of the Art and Culture Foundation and the Cultural Office of the Country Nordrhein Westfalen in Germany.
