Ben J. Riepe

studied dance and choreography at the Folkwang University of the Arts.
He worked at Neuer Tanz, Düsseldorf and was a guest-dancer in the Ensemble of Pina Bausch at the Tanztheater Wuppertal. While still a post-graduate student of choreography he came to public notice with his first productions. In addition to that he taught classes and workshops both in Germany and internationally.

The Company Ben J. Riepe, today a thirteen person team, exists since 2004. On behalf of the Goethe-Institut he tutors a contemporary dance production with Malay artists in Kuala Lumpur in Autumn 2007.

Ben J. Riepe is part of the Chin-A Moves-Projekt that has been initiated by the tanzhaus nrw - an artistic collaboration of Chinese and European Artists. In May 2008 he attended the project's exchange congress for choreographers and showed one of his production in Shanghai and Beijing in September 2008.

In 2009 the Düsseldorf-based choreographer has been chosen for the „Spitzenförderung des Landes NRW”, a three-year basis funding. He created a production for the Folkwang Tanzstudio as a guest choreographer in the first half of 2009.
