Uwe Brauns

born in 1986 in Germany

Education: graduated with a B.A. at the Folkwang University of the Arts (2007 - 2012) and then studied for 2 years at the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (SEAD). Participation in various workshops with Martin Kilvady, Jozef Frucek, David Zambrano, Juan Kruz Diaz de Garaio Esnaola, Shumpei Nemoto, Jeremy Wade, Martin Nachbar, Minako Seki and Nancy Stark Smith, amongst others.

Professional experience: during his study, he worked together with various choreographers, including Rodolpho Leoni, Henrietta Horn, Paul Blackman, Christine Gouzelis, Doris Uhlich, Alix Eynaudi, Stephan Brinkmann, Vita Osojnik, Foteini Papadopoulou, Pipo Tafel, Eyal Bromberg and many others. Since July 2014, he has been a dancer at the Folkwang Dance Studio.

Yi-An Chen

Born in 1980, Taiwan

Education: After her dance studies at the „National Taiwan University of Arts“ in Taiwan she graduated with a B.A. at the Folkwang University of the Arts in 2016.

Professional experience: After her studies at “National Taiwan University” she worked as a dancer at the “Century Contemporary Dance Company” and the “Scarecrow Contemporary Dance Company”. She worked with various choreographers, incl. Shu Fen Yao, Wen jinn Luo, Henrietta Horn, Ivan Fatjo Chaves, Iker Arrue and Rodolpho Leoni. Since September 2016 she has been a dancer of Folkwang Dance Studio.

Maria Giovanna Delle Donne

Born in 1992, Italy

Education: Graduated with a B.A. in dance (2010-2014) and a M.A. in Dance Composition/Interpretation (2014 – 2016) at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen.

Professional experience:  During her study she worked together with various choreographers, incl. Rodolpho Leoni, Ninnian Zhou und Xuan Shi. She danced as a guest dancer at the Wuppertaler Tanztheater in "Le Sacre du printemps" and "Wind von West", in "Romeo und Julia" at the Opera of Erfurt, in "Hercules" from Ester Ambrosino and in "Darwin to Darwin" from Johannes Wieland. In 2013 she won the first price by „ESDU Dance Competition“ and by „World Dance Movement International Competition“. Since August 2017 she has been a dancer of Folkwang Dance Studio.

Shan Gao

born in 1989 in China.

Education: from 2001-2008, he attended the “Beijing Dance Academy Secondary School” (Ballet) and then from 2008-2009 the “Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts”. From 2009-2014, he attended the Folkwang University of the Arts, graduating with a B.A. in Dance Studies in 2012 and with an M.A. in Dance Composition Interpretation in 2014.

Professional experience: during his study, he worked as a dancer with various choreographers, including Henrietta Horn, Urs Dietrich, Malou Airaudo, Rodolpho Leoni, Mandi Huo & Emanuel Gat. He has performed as a guest dancer in "Wind von West" and "Le Sacre du printemps" by Pina Bausch.
In 2013, he was awarded 2nd prize in the “2013 KUK Award” in Essen and 1st prize in the “2013 ilDance Choreography Competition in Gothenburg” for his solo piece “A daydream enters the infinite darkness”. In 2014, he provided the choreography for the cooperation between the Folkwang Chamber Orchestra Essen and the “638 dance steps” series. Since July 2014, he has been a dancer at the Folkwang Dance Studio.

Nejma Larichi

born in 1989 in France

Education: began her dance studies at the Conservatory in Toulouse (1996-2006). In 2011 state diploma of nurse. From 2013 - 2015 she studied in Centre National de Danse Contemporaine (CNDC) of Angers, where she received a diploma national superior of professional dancer. Following she spend one semester at the Folkwang University of the Arts. Professional Experience: During her studies, she worked with different choreographers including Christine Gaudichon, Kathleen Fisher, Taka Shamoto, Jean-Claude Gallotta and others. In 2012 she won the first price of "concours de Biarritz" with the duet "Entre deux" with Aygerym Souleimenova. In 2014 she worked with Pedro Pauwels for " La nuit des musées" and with Linnea Lind for the piece "How to be a revolutionnary". Since August 2015 she has been a dancer of Folkwang Dance Studio.

Jan Möllmer

born in 1991 in Germany

Education: at the age of 17 he started with lessons in classic and contemporary dance in Wuppertal, after being involved between 2007 and 2010 in Pina Bausch's "Kontakthof for teenagers from the age of 14". From 2010 to 2014, he studied Dance at the Folkwang University of the Arts, gaining a B.A. degree.

Professional experience: during his study, he worked together with choreographers such Rodolpho Leoni, Henrietta Horn, Stephan Brinkmann, Mark Sieczkarek and guested at the Wuppertal Dance Theatre in "Le Sacre du Printemps". He has developed his own choreographic works, such as "The man", for which he was awarded the Jury and Audience Prize at the IVth SoloDuo Competition in 2014. Since July 2014, he has been a dancer at the Folkwang Dance Studio.

Eva Pageix

Born in 1990, France

Education: She began her dance studies from 1995-2008 at the Dance school of Jacqueline Böhlert-Allanou. Following she studied from 2008-2010 at the Conservatory in Rennes and from 2011 – 2015 at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen (B.A. Dance).

Professional experience: During her study she worked as a dancer with various choreographers, incl. Susanne Linke, Jorge Puerta Armenta, Christine Rougier, Kristof Szabo. In October 2015 she won the junior price of the Festival „SoloDuo“ with the solo „La pensierosa“. She did an internship by Philippe Découflé and worked together with Luisa Saraiva in the project „Hochwasser“. Since September 2016 she has been a dancer of Folkwang Dance Studio.

Simon Wolant

born in 1990 in Germany

Education: Gratuated with a B.A. at the Folkwang University of the Arts (2011-2015).

Professional experience: During his study, he worked together with various choreographers, incl. Susanne Linke, Malou Airaudo, Rodolpho Leoni, Patricia Noworol & Jorge Puerta Armenta. He danced as a guest dancer at the Wuppertaler Tanztheater Pina Bausch  in “Le Sacre du printemps”. In 2010 he won the first Price @ the Talentshow “Revierkönig 2010” in Herne and in “Breakdance Freestyle Jam II 2010” in Gelsenkirchen. Since August 2015, he has been a dancer at the Folkwang Dance Studio.

Chih-I Wu

born in 1990 in Taiwan

Education: from 2005 to 2010 she studied at the Dance Department of the Tainan University of Technology and from 2010 to 2014 at the Folkwang University of the Arts, graduating with a B.A in Dance, participation in various workshops – including with Juan Kruz Diaz de Garaio Esnaola and Jan Pusch.

Professional experience: during her study, she worked with various choreographers, such as Giorgia Maddamma, Stephan Brinkmann, Rodolpho Leoni and Mandi Huo. Since July 2014, she has been a dancer at the Folkwang Dance Studio.

Chih-ming Yu

born in 1982 in Taiwan

Education: studied from 2000 to 2004 at the “Chinese Culture University in the Chinese Martial Arts Minor Department of Physical Education”, and then from 2009 to 2014 at the Folkwang University of the Arts.

Professional experience: during his study, cooperation with various choreographers, including Stephan Brinkmann and Rodolpho Leoni. Since September 2014, he has been a dancer at the Folkwang Dance Studio.
